Installation Instructions
Installing your Wallmonkey is easy. A few minutes of prep makes all the difference. For larger decals, grab a second pair of hands.
Before you start
- Be gentle. Our vinyl is durable, but it can tear if mishandled.
- Unroll your decal and let it rest flat at room temperature for at least an hour before applying (overnight is best).
- Pick a smooth surface and measure to make sure your decal fits.
- Clean the surface with a dry cloth to remove dust. Don't use chemicals or soap, and make sure the wall is completely dry.
Installing a standard decal
- Carefully peel the decal from its backing paper. Touch the adhesive side as little as possible.
- Start at one corner and smooth the decal onto the wall. For best results, start at the bottom half and work your way up.
- Smooth out any bubbles. If one won't budge, gently lift the nearest corner to release the air and smooth it down again.
- Step back and enjoy your new Wallmonkey.
Installing a transfer tape decal
- Peel away the backing paper. The clear transfer tape keeps every piece in place.
- Position the decal. You can see through the tape to line it up exactly.
- Smooth it onto the wall with your hands or the included squeegee.
- Slowly peel off the transfer tape to reveal your design.
Use a helper for transfer tape decals 36" and larger.
Installing a mural
Murals arrive as 48"-wide panels with a 1" overlap. Hang the first panel straight, then line up each panel with the overlap for a seamless finish.
Tips
- Textured wall? Test with a material sample first, and secure the corners with removable adhesive strips if needed.
- To remove, peel slowly from one corner. No tools needed, and no residue left behind.
- Saving it for later? Store it on the original backing paper.
