Here’s our story:

The idea for WallMonkeys wall decals came to me while flying home from a business trip. I was filling out one of those envelopes for my son’s baseball team, and I couldn’t believe I was about to order another baseball card vinyl sticker to put on my fridge. You know the ones – they’ve got the super cheesy background of some major league stadium, and aren’t particularly attractive as refrigerator flair. Certainly, there had to be something better to order. Turns out, there wasn’t (and believe me when I say that I checked).

Then I started to think about the Fathead commercials I saw on TV. Derek Jeter or A-Rod may be very cool as a giant wall sticker (yes, I am a HUGE Yankees fan), but my son and daughter are even COOLER – at least to me. And since neither Mr. Jeter nor Mr. Rodriguez lives in my house, I don’t really care to include them in my wall decor.

That’s when the idea hit me: why not take great pictures of my kids, contour-cut them, and make them the stars of the wall decal? So, that’s what I did. We took some pictures and paid way too much to have sample wall graphics made. The kids loved them, and so did all their friends. Moms, dads, grandparents, and everyone else at the baseball field wanted one.

Quickly, we started realizing that the demand for these wall decor decals went beyond sports photos. Customers started coming up with ideas faster than I could write them down, including sweet sixteen celebrations, birthday parties, pets, motorcycles – the list kept getting longer and longer. Some people even wanted massive murals made into a vinyl wall sticker. The only problem was, I didn’t have the printer, the vinyl wall decals, or any printing business at all for that matter.

Soon, I decided to make go of it, and WallMonkeys.com was born. In just a few short months, we built a web site, purchased the finest large format digital printers available, hired some very sharp people with lots of experience in the digital printing industry and tested our products and materials more times than I care to count. We took our first order for wall decor decals more than two years ago, and have been leading the charge for customer satisfaction and un-apologetically awesome, high quality wall decals.
